Trinity Church been a presence in Muscatine since 1839 when people began gathering in Matthew Matthews’ home as a community of faith. Over the years, we have continued the practice of worshipping, growing, and serving as faithful children of God.
Worship is rooted in the Book of Common Prayer, but we also explore other resources to enhance our liturgical life. We welcome and seek to involve people of all ages and backgrounds as we walk our journey in faith, with an intimate awareness of the cloud of witnesses who have walked the path before us. A variety of music is brought to us through song in a small choir, a magnificent Cassavant organ, and Yamaha Clavinova keyboard. From time to time we enjoy informal worship in the parish hall, a public park, or outdoors on the church lawn.
We seek to grow our faith through formation experiences that evolve as needs change. Among our offerings are Ecumenical and diocesan youth programs, confirmation, and adult formation opportunities.
Trinity has been the birthplace for a number of social action programs, most recently Jubilee Committee (2012) and Laundry Love (2016). Brought to life by Trinity individuals, these programs continue to thrive on their own energy and community support, making a difference for people in the Muscatine area.
At Trinity, all are welcome to come as they are – to discover something both old and new; to experience divine love as a child of God and a disciple of Christ; to realize the value of a community of faith that lives through joys and challenges together, remembering our center of Holy Love emanating through us, with us and in us.
